A budget app for two people
Separate is the default, not the setting you have to find
When you create an account, it belongs to a household of one. Nobody can see your receipts. Sharing starts only when both people add each other — a one-sided invitation does nothing at all. There is no switch you can flip by accident, and no link that quietly grants access.
Private receipts stay private
Any receipt, and any individual item on a receipt, can be marked private. It then stays out of the shared view entirely and remains visible only to you. The birthday present doesn’t appear in the joint “Online” category the week before the birthday.
This is not a technical footnote. It’s the difference between sharing a budget and being audited by the person you live with — and it’s the reason a shared budget survives past the second month.
What you see together
- The household total for the month, and how it compares to the last one
- Which categories take the largest share — down to individual items
- Budgets per category, visible to both of you
- Fixed costs and subscriptions counted into the monthly total, with a reminder before the next charge
- A monthly recap you can share as a card
For the scanning itself: how the receipt scanner works.
Where this works today
Belegio is built and tested for European receipts. If you both shop in Germany, Austria or Switzerland, everything above works right now — including with the app set to English. Receipts from outside Europe are not verified yet; the app is installable there and the interface is translated, but we haven’t tested the recognition on enough real receipts from those countries to promise it.
